Turning the page back to last year, we saw some historic vintage models from Bentley change hands at auctions; the 1927 E.Bullivant Bentley and also the 1921 Bentley, which incidentally is the world’s oldest model from the company . This year gets off to a high start with an estimated record breaking auction bid, where a rare 1929-32 model is expected to fetch $6.3 million, making it the most expensive Bentley ever to be sold at an auction. Part of former British watchmaker Mr. George Daniels’ collection of automobiles, this car is known to be a very famous part of British racing history. The current auction, stated to take place in June this year, will be undertaken by Bonham’s, whose specialists are estimating the record breaking price.
1929-32 Bentley single seater
This red colored single-seater Bentley, was once in the hands of famous British racer Sir Henry Birkin, who happened to be one of the most noted figures of racing circuit till date. With this 4 ½-liter engine car, he is known to have clocked in excess of 137 m/ph on Brookland’s outer circuit race in 1931. Before that, this Bentley achieved victorious outings in the 1929 Brookland’s Six Hour race, 1929 Irish Grand Prix, and also the 1929 Tourist Trophy races.
Most expensive Bentley
Amongst the most notable features, the sleek long cigar like appeal with a tapered tail bone got auto enthusiasts to take note of it.
